About Project Shramshakti

Project ShramShakti was born out of a simple yet urgent realization: while factory workers form the backbone of our economy, their voices often go unheard. From powering supply chains to producing the goods we rely on every day, they are the unseen force that keeps industries alive. Yet, despite their contribution, low- and middle-income workers face persistent challenges—unsafe workplaces, lack of access to reliable information, wage insecurity, and limited representation.

The idea for ShramShakti emerged after countless conversations with workers and community leaders who shared stories of hardship: wages withheld without explanation, health risks ignored in factories, and a growing gap between workers and the digital world that now shapes so much of daily life. What struck us most was not only the injustice of these experiences, but also the lack of platforms where workers could find guidance, share concerns, and access tools to protect themselves.

We believed that technology could bridge this gap. If digital platforms can revolutionize business and government, why can’t they empower workers too? ShramShakti set out to become more than just a project—it is a movement to give workers digital strength (shakti) to complement their labor (shram). By combining advocacy with accessible digital resources, we aim to equip workers with the knowledge and networks they need to stand up for their rights, secure safer futures, and build stronger communities.

What began as a vision to create a small knowledge hub has since grown into a broader mission: to amplify worker voices, foster solidarity, and ensure dignity in labor. ShramShakti is not charity—it is a platform of empowerment, where workers become leaders of change.

Mission: Advocacy + Digital Empowerment.

At Project ShramShakti, our mission is to stand alongside factory workers by combining advocacy and digital empowerment. We believe that every worker deserves dignity, safety, and access to opportunities—yet too often, systemic barriers keep them invisible and unheard.

Through advocacy, we raise awareness about the challenges faced by low- and middle-income workers, push for fair labor policies, and amplify worker voices in public and policy spaces. We aim to influence change not just within factories, but across society, ensuring that workers’ rights are recognized and respected.

Through digital empowerment, we equip workers with accessible tools, resources, and knowledge that can protect them from exploitation, improve their financial literacy, and strengthen their ability to make informed decisions. By bridging the digital divide, we help transform workers into active participants in shaping their futures.

ShramShakti exists to ensure that labor is not only valued, but empowered.

Vision: A Future Where Workers Are Informed, Connected, And Respected.

We envision a future where every worker is informed, connected, and respected. Factories may run on machines, but it is human labor that gives them life—and this labor deserves recognition, fairness, and dignity. In our vision, workers are not passive participants in an unequal system but empowered individuals with the knowledge and confidence to shape their own futures.

An informed worker is one who understands their rights, health, and financial choices. A connected worker is part of a supportive network, bridging the gap between communities, organizations, and policymakers. A respected worker is valued not only for their labor, but for their humanity.

Through advocacy and digital empowerment, Project ShramShakti strives to build this future. One where workers’ contributions are acknowledged, their voices heard, and their well-being prioritized—ultimately creating stronger, more inclusive societies where dignity in labor is the norm, not the exception.

Values: Dignity, Equity, Accessibility, Solidarity.

At the heart of Project ShramShakti are four guiding values:

Dignity: Every worker deserves to be treated with respect, free from exploitation or neglect.

Equity: We stand for fairness in opportunities, wages, and representation, ensuring no worker is left behind.

Accessibility: Knowledge and digital tools must be simple, clear, and multilingual, reaching workers regardless of literacy or background.

Solidarity: True empowerment is collective. We foster unity among workers, communities, NGOs, and allies to create lasting impact.

About Founder

Where Innovation Meets Industrial Safety

Advay Bohra (born 24 August 2008) is from Faridabad, Haryana, and is currently a student at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad

Project Shramshakti, founded by Advay Bohra, is a data-driven initiative aimed at empowering informal labor in Faridabad’s industrial belt. By pairing workers’ concerns with cost-conscious solutions—such as shaded rest areas, rotating shifts, and bulk safety gear—Advay created sustainable improvements that balanced worker welfare with business realities.
